Laser Request Form

Use this form to give us specific information to better help develop a quote for your next laser project. We are here for you whether you already have a design or need us to create on for you!

Already have a design you’d like us to make? If so, please indicate in your project notes if you have either vector or raster file artwork to provide. The quality of the provided artwork directly impacts the quality of the finished part.

Vector Files – AI, EPS, DXF/DWG and SVG built to 100% scale, RGB color setup, all text outlined, any linked images included.

Raster Files – PS/TIF/PNG format, built to 100% scale of final lasered part, at least 300 dpi, RGB color setup, all text rasterized, any linked images included.

Helpful Tips For Providing Artwork

If providing an editable AI or PS file:

Design elements that are intended to be marked or cut in a distinctive manner from the rest of the artwork should be separated & organized onto dedicated layers. Color coding/mapping each element also helps to create dedicated laser parameters. The laser interface software can separate design elements based on fill/stroke color (color mapping).

When utilizing layered artwork, each design element needs to be subtracted from one another. Elements cannot overlap or hide behind each other. The laser’s interface software will still recognize it and mark/engrave/cut based on the associated settings.

Design element requirements, on average:

Text should be built to at least 6pt or 0.0525” tall. As text gets smaller the weight, tracking & kerning should increase to aid legibility. A thin & tight body of text will not mark/engrave as well as a wide & spaced body of text.

Line weight should be built to at least 0.5pt or 0.003” wide.

Raster images, such as photos, should be designed in b&w. This process is closer to what the laser is capable of outputting and will assist with the platform translation. It is good practice to push value contrast and edge focus to aid in image clarity and hierarchy.
